Why Do You Need to Blog Strategically?

Blogging allows you to focus on content. If you know how to use email, you know how to blog. The problem is, starting a blog is the easiest part of the business. Growing traffic and monetizing your blog take more work than that.

If you are looking for information on how to make money quickly from a blog, I’m sorry that I have to disappoint you. You’ll find none of those here.

While you can start from scratch and make money the next day, it takes a lot of work to build up content and traffic to the level that is significant and steady so you can make a living out of it.

According to the stats in 2007 by Technorati, more than 120,000 blogs were started every day. That could only mean one thing: competitor. Although that doesn’t necessarily mean a bad thing especially in blogging – more on this later – the need of strategy in your blog becomes very important.

I want to make sure you get this clearly. That doesn’t mean you have to create hundreds of pages of business plan before you start your blog. Contrarily, you can start a blog for free or with very little money that you don’t need a Venture Capital to back up your business.

In most cases, one page of strategic plan is enough. The only purpose is to help you gain perspective and know what you should do next at any point in time to move your blog closer to your goal.
